Undercover agents find many problems

WASHINGTON - Months after the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, federal investigators found security so lax at four Atlanta federal buildings that undercover agents with fake identification and briefcases were able to bypass metal detectors and X-ray machines.

The agents also were able to obtain secret security codes admitting them to the facilities after work hours, says the U.S. General Accounting Office (GAO), which conducted the tests.
