League expected to grant new team to Dayton area
FAIRBORN - Training camp for the East Coast Hockey League Dayton
Bombers begins in 10 days for coach Greg Ireland.
The opening game is scheduled for Oct. 11.
All he needs is a franchise.
Indications are there will be a team, but that is not certain and
won't be known for another day or two, while the league decides
whether it will grant a new franchise to the Dayton area.
For the past 10 days, there has been no Dayton team as the league
pulled the franchise from former owner John Gagnon. A new group of
investors headed by Tim Reilly of Melrose Capital applied for
ownership of an expansion franchise Friday and agreed to pay the
