SAN FRANCISCO - Jeff Kent is a free agent as soon as the World
Series ends, and there is talk the San Francisco Giants can't afford
him, although an extra $15 million in postseason receipts might
change.
Kent deflects talk about whether he will wear a San Francisco
uniform next year or leap into free agency in search of another team.
"The World Series is bigger and better than anything to do with
the free-agent market," Kent said. "I haven't thought much about it.
These next two games in Anaheim are very important. There might be a
little sadness in me involved, but I'm really looking forward to
