Pirates' Purter gains 211 yards against Fenwick
WEST CARROLLTON - West Carrollton fullback Dewayne Purter already
felt he had received enough reward for changing positions this
season, but his recent offensive explosion against Middletown Fenwick
was a welcome bonus.
Purter finished last season as the team's leading rusher when his
combination of strength and speed was featured in a split backfield.
Early this season, Pirates coach Jason Brodehl gave Purter a new
role as a fullback in an option attack. The new alignment often has
meant more blocking duties and fewer carries.
But the Neighbors Athlete of the Week showed Fenwick he still
