Article: Steroids Said to Tinge Maryland Football

The possibility of steroid use by members of the University of Maryland football team was raised yesterday in light of a report in the campus newspaper, and a player told The Washington Post that at least two players no longer on the squad used the drugs.

The Diamondback reported that Dan Calvin, who runs the athletic drug testing program at the College Park campus, confirmed anabolic steroids had been detected in urine samples of Terrapins football players. The paper also quoted current and former players as saying they had used steroids and seen teammates do so.
