Pair to bike, drive across country to plug renewable fuel

YELLOW SPRINGS - On Saturday, Ben Gillock and Bianca Socopi- Belknap, students at Antioch College, will leave for a summer road trip that will take them more than 8,000 miles, through 32 states and hundreds of communities - all without using a drop of gasoline.

The pair hope that in the course of their journey, they won't have to stop at a gas station even once, although they may stop at more than the usual number of restaurants on the way.

The two plan to cross the country twice - once on their bikes and once in their 1982 VW Rabbit diesel pick-up truck, which is fueled with recycled vegetable oil.
