Lincoln Schreiber is the head of a family that doesn't call him son or father; it calls him `Slammaster.'

This is not the family Schreiber was born into, but the one he became a part of by getting involved in Dayton's monthly Poetry Slam competitions - to be later voted into the leadership position of Slammaster.

Schreiber considers everyone who attends a slam to be a member of this family, performers and audience members alike. `When you walk through those doors, you're not a member of an audience, you're a member of a family.'
