The magnitude of Golden State's split with the Phoenix Suns in
the first two games of their NBA Western Conference semifinal playoff
series was not lost on the Warriors.
"It's very important," guard Terry Teagle said of the Warriors'
127-122 victory Tuesday night, which evened the best-of-seven series
at 1. "We came into the series wanting it."
Game 3 will be Thursday night at Oakland.
When Phoenix trounced the Warriors, 130-107, last Saturday, fans
chanted "Beat L.A.," looking ahead to a Suns-Lakers conference final.
But Teagle, who scored 29 points in Game 2, and Chris Mullin, who
scored 37, said they weren't interested in the overconfidence of the
Suns or their fans.
