The sick list reads like the NFL report: John McEnroe, Yannick
Noah, Paolo Cane and Michael Chang.
McEnroe withdrew from next week's Italian Open in Rome. He said
he hurt his back in an exhibition match in Ede, the Netherlands, when
he stepped on a ball. Yannick Noah also withdrew, citing an injury.
Cane defaulted from the German Open in Hamburg, West Germany,
because of a sore leg. Boris Becker benefited and will play Horst
Skoff in a semifinal today. Ivan Lendl will play Jimmy Connors or
