SOUTH SUBURB RESIDENTS TO HEAR OPTIONS

Municipalities consider opt-in, -out electric service

CENTERVILLE - A public meeting to determine future electrical service to six south suburbs will take place at 11:30 a.m. today at the offices of the Miami Valley Communications Council, 1195 E. Alex- Bell Road in Centerville.

The Regional Council of Governments has been representing Centerville, Bellbrook, Germantown, Kettering, Moraine and Miamisburg in negotiations for electrical service.

Voters passed ballot issues last year allowing the cities to join and bid on residents' behalf for competitive gas and electric prices.

The MVCC did an "opt-in" program for gas, and the council is ready to launch an "opt-out" program for electric.
