Mock incident teaches lessons from Columbine tragedy
WEST CARROLLTON - More than 500 people will continue today with
a mock critical incident at West Carrollton High School to prepare
police, fire and emergency medical services personnel to respond to a
crisis.
Sgt. Doug Woodard of the West Carrollton Police Department, who
has been planning the comprehensive regional training exercise for
more than a year, wants to prepare for an emergency similar to the
student shootings at Columbine High School five years ago.
"The goal is to reduce the loss of life and the number and
severity of injuries," he said.
