SPECIAL K JOINS LOW-CARB RANKS

The giant Kraft Foods Corp. had barely reported major financial losses - partly attributed to the bite that low-carb diets have taken out of cereal sales - when the Kellogg Co. announced a new version of its Special K, this one targeting those looking to keep carb consumption in check. This version has 9 grams of `net' carbs per serving (fiber deducted), compared to 21 net carbs in traditional Special K.
