Article: Greene County parks department offering cure for winter blahs

Before we know it, the long days of January will be here and we'll be looking for something to do.

The Greene County Recreation, Parks and Cultural Arts Department has some cures for the winter doldrums.

For instance, from 7 to 9 p.m. Jan 6 and 20, you can take an astronomy class, taught by Wade Allen, a retired curator from the Boonshoft Museum of Discovery.

The class at the Narrows Reserve Nature Center, 2575 Indian Ripple Road in Beavercreek, is open to anyone 14 and older. The cost is $35 for Greene County residents and $43 for nonresidents.

Advanced registration with payment is required. Call 562-7440 or 429-9590 for more information on this or any of the department's programs.
