WILLIAM DONOHUE, PRESIDENT OF THE Catholic League for Civil and Religious Rights, used the Advent season to press his organization's professed mission in a remarkable way.

The league describes itself as the "nation's largest Catholic civil rights organization." It publishes laudatory testimonials about itself from bishops and cardinals who lead some of the largest U.S. Catholic archdioceses.
