Dr. Dawn Zacharias' patient had spent Monday outside, amid the
sunshine and budding trees. And Tuesday morning in the Beavercreek
allergist's office.
"I don't know what's going on, but now my nose is just running
like crazy," the patient told her.
The spring allergy season has arrived, according to both local
physicians and the Regional Air Pollution Control Agency.
Tree pollen counts reached high levels for the first time last
Wednesday and will be rising during the next two weeks, RAPCA's Brian
Huxtable said.
Tuesday's tree pollen level of 154 was less than Thursday's 516,
but still considered high, or "unhealthy for sensitive people," as
Huxtable put it.
