PIQUA -- Two seasons ago, Piqua American Legion Post 184 coach Ken Magoteaux found himself concerned with numbers. This season, fund- raisers have taken care of one of his worries.

The Post 184 offense, meanwhile, has erased another.

Post 184 has slugged its way out of a 1-4 start this season, working back to .500 as of June 16 with its 29-14 pounding of St. Marys and its Xavier Universitybound pitcher.

Piqua hopes the hard hits continue to chase away the hard luck that fell on the team in Magoteaux's first season when financial trouble led to a late start and abbreviated schedule.
