Article: Masters of Disaster won't be at air show

DAYTON -- The Masters of Disaster will not return to the Vectren Dayton Air Show as a result of Sunday's fatal crash in Canada, air show officials said Tuesday.

The barnstorming act involving biplanes, a jet-powered truck and ground explosions lost two members -- longtime air show stars Jimmy Franklin of Neosho, Mo., and Bobby Younkin of Springdale, Ark. -- on Sunday when their planes collided in midair at the Saskatchewan Air Show in Moose Jaw.

Earlier Tuesday, air show organizers had said Masters of Disaster would appear at the Dayton air show this weekend despite the accident.

A third member of the team, Jim Leroy, will do a solo performance at the show, as will Les and Scott Shockley ...
