If you are interested in the Stillwater River and what it means to
people in the Miami Valley, you might check out the Stillwater River
Stewardship Conference, hosted Saturday by Wegerzyn Gardens
MetroPark. The cost is $15, and although the deadline for
reservations has passed, you can call 277-6545 to see if space is
available.
The program, which runs from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., includes an
address by Paul Labowitz, program leader for the National Park
Service's Rivers, Trails and Conservation Assistance program. He will
talk about promoting responsible recreational use of waterways
through the creation of water trails. Other discussions will cover
different aspects of water quality.
