GREENVILLE -- The Annie Oakley collection at the Garst Museum
recently received a museum makeover.
The newly painted walls, additional lighting, life-size photo
reproductions, and expanded space might make many previous visitors
think they're seeing parts of the collection for the first time.
On Friday, July 29, the Garst Museum opened the Annie Oakley
Center. The display, that encompasses two rooms and a hallway, tells
the story of Darke County's most famous daughter.
"This is certainly the largest public collection of Annie Oakley
material," curator Dr. Paul Fees said. "It is also one of the most
significant."
The Garst Museum has housed an Annie Oakley collection for years.
