Many sports offer a grand slam. Golf has its grand slam. Turkey
hunters have one. The International Game Fish Association recognizes
a slam for salt-water anglers.
And Fish Ohio, sponsored by the Ohio Division of Wildlife, has a
grand slam. It was started this year to recognize Ohio anglers who
could qualify with exemplary catches.
Year one for a grand slam in Buckeye State fishing is fading fast
and, so far, not one person has qualified.
Vickie Ervin, communications manager for the wildlife division,
said the Fish Ohio grand slam is being reviewed.
Gary Isbell, the division's executive administrator of fisheries
