No rust for Piqua: Indians 5-0 after dropping Wayne Fashner scores 16, Collier runs offense, Piqua rules boards

PIQUA -- The Piqua boys basketball team was unsure how it would respond after a 13-day break. Wayne, on the other hand, never anticipated it would be the team that looked sluggish after playing three games in 11 days.

The Indians outworked the Warriors on the boards to help maintain a narrow lead through the second half of a 66-59 win on Friday.

Piqua -- which honored U.S. Olympic hockey team member Kristin King at halftime -- improved to 5-0 and 2-0 in the Greater Western Ohio Conference. Wayne dropped to 2-3 and 0-3 GWOC.

"That was not the Wayne Warriors," Wayne coach Steve Jutras said after his team was outrebounded 33-23. "I don't know who that team was."
