DAYTON --The Schuster Performing Arts Center has been an
unqualified success since day one for the Dayton Philharmonic
Orchestra and the Dayton Opera.
Live music done well in a big way is rewarded there. Artists and
audiences both win. No one has sounded the cry, "bring back Memorial
Hall."
It has taken a while to judge what the Schuster has meant for the
its third major producing tenant, but this observer is starting to
believe that it may be doing the Dayton Ballet as much harm as good.
The Schuster, specifically its 2,300-seat Mead Theatre, doesn't
come close to the Dayton Ballet's "other" home -- the 1,100-seat
