Western Montgomery County land plan taking shape Residents attend meetings about open space

JEFFERSON TWP., Montgomery County -- They pored over maps for 20 minutes, elected officials and residents, occasional allies and occasional antagonists, working together to identify what works in western Montgomery County -- and what doesn't.

Blue dots were for good land uses. Orange dots were for poor ones, or possible future projects for the Miami Valley Regional Planning Commission.

"It was really wonderful," said Jefferson Twp. resident Laura Rench, an activist and frequent critic of public officials. "It was good to meet with people from surrounding communities and talk about land use."
