Article: Campaign under way to raise $6 million Salvation Army needs money to accept $69M for rec complex

DAYTON -- The Salvation Army of Dayton will begin immediately to raise the $6 million needed to help operate a proposed Ray and Joan Kroc community Center north of downtown, officials said Monday.

Business manager Reggie Winters believes the charity can reach that goal.

"I'm quite confident because of the board we have. It's a very strong board," he said.

The campaign will be led by the charity's advisory board chairman Jeff Ireland, an attorney, and vice chairman Sam Lumby, who owns the Dayton Bag and Burlap Co.
