"Change keeps this place really fresh," Minns said, pointing out that in just five years, more than 30 merchants have come and gone from the mall near Interstate 75 and Interstate 675 in Miami Twp.

Scanning its modern, shiny, twinkling and bustling interior, Minns said it's easy to forget that the Dayton Mall has been around for three decades.

But change is definitely in the air for the 1970s-era mall.
