BEAVERCREEK -- Ice cream's not the first thing you think of to go
with barbeque or vice versa. These two heavy, rich foods seem an
unlikely pairing.
When I first heard about a barbeque joint and an ice cream parlor
joining forces, I had my doubts, but Rick Malir of City Barbeque and
Clay Cookerly of Graeter's Ice Cream knew they had a bright idea.
City Barbeque is known for slow-smoking its meat to bring out the
full spectrum of flavors. The tender meat doesn't require any of the
restaurant's original recipe barbeque sauces, though bottles of all
three varieties are present on every table for sauce lovers who can't
get enough.
