Morality should come before party

As parents of a soldier extended on his second combat tour in Iraq, we are appalled that any member of the Ohio delegation in the U.S. Congress would not call for House Speaker Dennis Hastert's resignation knowing that Hastert knew about the immoral behavior of former Rep. Mark Foley of Florida.

We are also deeply troubled that House Majority Leader John Boehner has trouble recollecting events surrounding this apparent coverup and getting his story straight.

These leaders are placing the political prospects of their party above moral decency.
