TIPP CITY -- A parking lot will be transformed Saturday into the
site of a fundraiser for the Veterans Memorial.
More than 60 businesses have donated items for the fundraiser,
which has grown to a communitywide effort.
Tina Vollmer of Bud Polley's Floor Center on West Main Street said
the idea she and fellow employees had to sell remnant flooring at a
tent sale grew into the activities scheduled for 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in
the parking lot at 955 W. Main St.
The Veterans Memorial is being built as part of a new city park at
the southeastern corner of Main and Hyatt streets. A committee is
raising money through donations and the sale of memorial bricks.
