Jason was sitting out in his yard the other evening just as it
started to get dark. Suddenly, he noticed a tiny light blinking on
and off in the air. It was the first firefly of the year! Jason
caught the firefly in his fist, and held it gently. Then he showed
it to his little brother Charlie, who's 2 1/2. "Bug lights up!" the
little boy said. He was amazed.
Jason and his little brother had a good time watching the
fireflies. But while they were sitting outside, they also kept
slapping mosquitoes that were trying to bite them. By the time they
went indoors, each boy had a few bumps from fresh mosquito bites.
Why did the boys get itchy bumps from the bug bites? Almost
everybody is allergic ...
