Jim Jabir watched Saint Joseph's advance to the Atlantic 10
women's basketball tourney finals. That's the same squad Jabir's
University of Dayton team defeated in the final month of the regular
season.
"When we go and beat La Salle (in the tourney) and see St. Joe's
in the championship game, it tells me we can play with good teams,"
Jabir said, summing up UD's 12-19 season, which ended with a second-
round loss to the top seed, George Washington. "There were too many
close games that we couldn't finish." Jabir hopes the season was a
blip on the upward swing that saw the Flyers improve from a three-
