TIPP CITY -- With final measurements complete and a site plan
approved, city officials said nothing should impede the start of
physical work at the Veterans Memorial Park this spring.
Once that work begins, "I have no reason to believe ... that it
will not be substantially completed this year," City Manager David
Collinsworth said of the park planned for city-owned land at the
southeast corner of West Main and Hyatt streets.
Those words were encouraging to members of the volunteer Veterans
Memorial Committee.
They have coordinated support and raised more than $88,000 for a
12-foot monument and other elements for the park.
