Article: Woman's life rich in creative arts

A tour of Barbara Rich's comfortable home in Huber Heights reveals a lifetime devoted to creative pursuits. From clay sculpture to photography to watercolors and even china painting, the results of Rich's creative flair are everywhere.

"I started out teaching second grade in northern Ohio out of college," Rich said. "But I only did that for a year before my husband and I started our family and moved to the Dayton area."

In 1957, Rich and her young family, along with several other couples, moved to the Dayton area for jobs.

"Some went to Page Manor to live," Rich said. "But when we saw that we could buy a new Huber home for $500 down and around $13,000 total, we decided to settle here."
