XENIA -- The recent warm weather has brought a large number of
plant and insect problems.
Most are not life-threatening but may disfigure the plant. Others
may do harm to your home, pets or family.
Some of the more common insects include:
- Aphids on apple trees, burning bush and other succulent plants.
Products such as Malathion 50 or 57, Orthenex or Sevin can help
control them. Always read and follow label instructions.
- Carpenter ants eat moist wood in leaky areas. Control them by
finding water leaks or using products containing Permethrin and Sevin
out of doors. Be careful in your home.
- Winged termites live in the soil and come into a wooded building
to feed. They are best ...
