Article: Barbie and books help Carolina's recovery

A FAMILY outing to a neighbourhood cafe last week was Carolina Anderson's first step back to normality after the dog attack which nearly took her life.

Carolina, 7, was the toast of passers-by as she sipped a milk "fluffy", drew glitter pen pictures and played with three new dolls.

She posed happily for pictures with dad John and mum Sandra Fresia before examining the results on the photographer's digital camera.

While her parents aren't yet sure when she'll return to Auckland's Bayfield School, she's enrolled at the Kidz First Hospital school at Middlemore which is sending work home. She's also expected to have a home tutor.
