THAT WAS an excellent article (May 18) bringing to attention the fact that more "alternative", so-called health practices, being introduced, are in fact nothing more than religious practices born into the "new-age" sector and now claiming to offer miraculous results.

Yes, there are results often with these types of practices, which may offer a quick fix but are really masking the real, underlying problems. They can, in the long-term, have a dangerous physical and emotional and mental hold, particularly if they are masking the real issue at hand.
