THE COOKIE MONSTER has retired, but New Zealand Idol's "na na na
na na" man still dreams of making it big in the music industry.
They were the two unlikely stars of last year's hit television
popquest. Neither made it past the first audition, but later played
to big audiences despite their humiliating public rejections by Idol
judges.
The Christchurch man who dressed as Cookie Monster, Malcolm
Mulholland, recorded a CD cover of Elvis Presley's Teddy Bear, which
played to Solid Gold radio listeners.
Wellington's Terry Shore, the "na na na na na" man - named because
he sang only that as lyrics to a Ronan Keating song - toured with
radio station The Edge, and was even asked for his autograph ...
