Article: Rating website will keep real estate agents 'on their toes'

REAL ESTATE agents who fail to perform may find themselves named and shamed online.

A new website allows people to rate the performance of real estate agents, similar to the teacher rating website RateMyTeacher. The TopAgents. co.nz website uses a five-star rating system.

Among those already featured is top Hamilton real estate agent Shaun Cosgrave, who was censured and fined $750 in March by the Real Estate Institute for his role in a house sale in 2005 that turned sour.

Cosgrave, despite recently being named Australasia's top real estate agent by Harcourts, has a rating of just 1.5 stars on the TopAgents website.
