Businesses depend on an impartial court system and should work
against efforts to overhaul Missouri's method of judicial
appointments, a business lawyer told a group gathered Tuesday to
discuss attacks on the court plan. The meeting was organized in
downtown St. Louis by the Committee for Economic Development, a
national business group, and included former Supreme Court Chief
Justice Ronnie White, former Democratic Gov. Bob Holden and other
