Panky's Pacer ran a slashing trial for the $100,000 George Calvert
Cleaning Easter Cup on Friday week with a New Zealand record, first-
up since November, at Addington's bowlers race night.
The lightly-raced In The Pocket gelding entered cup class in the
best possible way, overcoming a 30m handicap in the Pacificvet Pace
last night, to win in 3:14 for the 2600m.
This was 0.1 of a second inside Smooth Trickster's New Zealand
mark, set in last year's Kurow Cup.
The previous Addington nine-win class record was held by former
champion Christian Cullen at 3:14.2. Christian Cullen is co-owned by
Ian Dobson, who also co-owns Panky's Pacer with Graham Pilkington,
Joe Mullins, and Ray Pankhurst.
