New Zealand's Seagate team has finished third in the $US250,000
($NZ428,000) Subaru Primal Quest adventure race in Nevada.
The team of Nathan Fa'avae (Nelson), Kristina Strode-Penny
(Wellington), Jeff Mitchell (Christchurch), and Neil Jones
(Whakatane) lost any winning chance after serving a six-hour penalty
at the Homewood Ski Resort on Wednesday for taking a wrong road on
the trekking section.
Nike ended up winning the race and first prize of $US100,000 by
6hr 45min, while "dark horse" Australian team AROC beached its kayak
