Dog expert C.W. "Bill" Meisterfeld believes that there are no bad
dogs. But he thinks there are many dog owners who are bad masters
for the animals they live with. These dog owners can create unhappy,
insecure dogs who may become vicious and dangerous-especially to
small children. That situation is something that Bill Meisterfeld
would like to change.
"Dogs aren't born with a good set of manners," says Bill
Meisterfeld. "They need training. Like children, they need to go to
school."
But, he warns, dog-training methods based on punishment or using
physical force to make the animal behave can cause problems.
