Murderous madness. When you follow semi-naive young American Bill
Carter into the streets of wartime Sarajevo, even on the page and
even through sometimes clumsy writing, fear takes over.
It's going to take time to get the feeling out of your head that
the next sniper shot could be the one that drills you.
You stagger through Sarajevo -- long and narrow and looked down
upon by the hillside enemy -- with an escape route always in mind.
You try to keep a building between you and the hillside shooters
whose aim is often true.
You can't always do that, so you wait for a moment you think is
right and sprint ...
