Money market mutual funds' - yields fell. The Donoghue Organization
said average 30-day simple yields declined to 8.26 percent from 8.28
percent.
- COMPANIES
Circuit City Stores - of Richmond said it selected J. Walter
Thompson of New York as its new advertising agency, replacing
Ad-marketing of Los Angeles.
-American Airlines - said it will increase discount fares, starting
Sept. 29, paid by 42 percent of its customers who buy their tickets
seven to 14 days in advance. However, no competing airlines
immediately matched the increases, raising the possibility that
American will have to cancel them.
-Fannie Mae's - board has authorized a three-for-one split of its
common stock ...
