Is this the beginning of the end of Endism?
It had only just begun too-Washington's hottest intellectual
trend. The be-all. The end-all.
Not the end of the world, just the end of history, meaning the
great struggling of ideas of government, according to a State
Department official named Francis Fukuyama. Democratic liberalism is
going to run every country in the world sooner or later, he says. It
has proved itself the best. No more world wars. No more
world-changing battles of ideology, religions, economic systems or
most of what historians spend their time writing history about.
How nice.
