The Human Rights Commission today issued its first report card on
the state of human rights in New Zealand, an overview which
highlights some critical areas in which the country is failing. MIKE
HOULAHAN reports.
New Zealanders pride themselves on giving everyone a fair go, but
Chief Human Rights Commissioner Rosslyn Noonan warns a significant
number of people in this country don't enjoy the right to be
respected for who they are.
As the Human Rights Commission issues its first report card on the
state of human rights in New Zealand, Noonan warns it does not make
happy reading for those who blissfully imagine the country to be a
