Christchurch's Flowers and Romance Festival kicks off on February
11 with its premier event -- the Floral Carpet in Christchurch
Cathedral. This year's carpet by Patricia Proctor and the Floral Arts
Society represents a pathway through the four seasons. Other
highlights include a scented garden for the blind in Cathedral
Square, a wearable flowers parade, and a garden makeover competition.
The Botanic Gardens is host to several events including an open-air
film screening, fairy tales -- as told by fairies -- and a begonia
display. The festival runs till February 20.
