Jan Hay has Smitten Kitten on trial for the Eulogy Stakes at
Awapuni at Riccarton Park today but does not believe the addition of
blinkers will be a crucial factor in the outcome of the Dunedin
Guineas Prelude.
The Volksraad filly is back from the 1600m of the One Thousand
Guineas, where she was unlucky to miss paying a dividend, to 1200m,
but that is not the reason for the blinkers.
"She has worn Kant See Backs before so the blinkers are not as
dramatic as they would have been otherwise," Hay said.
Kant See Backs, woollen rolls worn behind the horse's eye to
