Car companies often use New Zealand for publicity shots well prior
to their models' northern hemisphere launches. Not all of them are
quite as blatant as Volkswagen, writes DAVE MOORE.

Several readers called and emailed us last week that some strange
convertibles were being filmed and photographed by a crew of Germans
at the Westpac Centre.
Before being rushed at and shooed away by what appeared to be a
crew of ad agency creatives, Drive was able to snatch a couple of
quickly taken photographs of the cars.
They proved to be examples of the Volkswagen Eos coupe-
convertible.
The Eos is not due to be revealed to the European public until the
end of the first quarter next year. The new ...
