We know the car looks good, and now Holden has made us privy to its new VE Commodore's chassis, which is even more encouraging, writes DAVE MOORE.

Holden is the first to acknowledge that its once unique Australian independent suspension system on the Commodore had not aged well in recent years in the face of Ford's newer control-blade type.

However, for its new VE model, Holden is launching what it calls a "linear control suspension" system that may just put GM's chassis back ahead of Ford in the constant techno leapfrog that occurs between the two companies.
