A management reshuffle and a push to sell pizza to "middle New
Zealand" and hungry young men could help Restaurant Brands' ailing
Pizza Hut stores turn the corner, chief executive Vicki Salmon says.
Sales for the group, which owns the Starbucks, KFC and Pizza Hut
brands in New Zealand and under-performing Pizza Hut stores in
Australia, fell 0.5 per cent to $97.7 million in the 16 weeks to
September 11, against the same 2005 period.
New Zealand sales eased 0.9% to $88.5m, dragged down by its
flagging Pizza Hut chain.
Salmon described the Pizza Hut sales figures as "horrible", but
said they were off last year's record sales because of the Lion's
rugby tour.
